FIGURE 2.11b:  Pull down "File" and choose "Save Project As".  This action will convert all work to .apr format and will save the shape file created, as well.

FIGURE 2.11c:  Navigate to wherever the file is to be saved and save the file under a new name (to preserve the file exported from DevInfo).  Click the "OK" button.  The set of edited .apr files for each of the variables from DevInfo is included below.
