“Two
years ago, I asked you to support my Independent candidacy for City
Council. I
promised to work hard to re-focus city spending priorities on basic
services. I
also promised to provide a voice for those 2nd Ward
residents who
believed, as I did, that our city government had lost touch with the
community,
its needs and its priorities. Over
these last two years, I have advocated strongly for dedicating scarce
resources
to “basic services first.” I have led efforts to enhance public safety,
to fund
necessary infrastructure improvements, to protect city parks and to
improve
efficiency in service delivery. At the same time, I have resisted more
discretionary spending for railroad stations and public art projects. ![]() |
