• In addition to playing in the snow on the Midway, I also enjoyed ice skating in the sunken central portion of the Midway.  My first ice skates had double runners on them, split in the middle, so effectively a left and right runner on both the front and the back of each skate.  Sort of like roller skates with wide blades in place of each wheel.
• Life in Elmira was fine; but life in Chicago opened up so many new and fascinating possibilities...I was way too busy to miss Elmira.
