Wilbur C. "Bill"
Van Popering, age 78, of Byron Center, went to be with the Lord on
Saturday,
December 19, 2009. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and
served
on many church, school and community boards. He was a long time member
of the
American Business Club (AMBUCS). He retired as a partner of W.A.
Lettinga and
Associates. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years,
Norma; his
children, Scott and Marcia VanPopering, David Van Popering and Stacey
Clark,
Larry and Laura Van Popering; grandchildren, Andy and Leighann, Kevin,
Luke,
Quinn, Carson and Grace; great granddaughter, Lyza Faye; brother and
sister, Al
and Arlene Van Popering, Carole and Les Meyering; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Bob Strabbing, Gladys Genzink, Lois Tucker, Amy
Strabbing, Jo
Strabbing, Carol and Herm Kolk, Mary and Roger Shoemaker, Chuck and Ona
Strabbing. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. at
First
Byron Center Christian Reformed Church, 2480 85th St. SW, Byron Center,
with
Rev. Tom Groelsema officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Those
who wish may make memorial contributions to Christian Reformed
Conference
Grounds, AMBUCS, or First Byron Center Christian Reformed Church
