Mr. Tunis Henry Van Halm, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 15, 2009. Tunis served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Henrietta Van Halm, and his wife, Barbara Ann Van Halm. He will be deeply missed by his children, Diane (Ron) Van Wieren, Vernon (Jana) Van Halm, and Carol (Scott) Pepper; grandchildren, Nathan and Erin Van Wieren, Brianna and Kaylee Van Halm, and Corrinne and Garrett Pepper; brother and sister, Adrian Van Halm, and Marjorie (James) Phillips; brother-in-law, Donald (Marilyn) Bouma; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at his church, Rosewood Reformed, 2795 Rosewood Dr., Jenison. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet Tunis' family Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of his service. Contributions in memory of Tunis may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St. NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517.
