Robert Upton, aged 82, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 2, 2009. Robert was born in Frankfort, MI, served in the Army and spent his professional career as a Licensed Journeyman Plumber and Pipefitter Local 174 since 1964. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Upton. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Julianna Upton; children, Bill (Bonnie) Upton, Christine Konyndyk, Carolyn (Jack) Berry, Tom (Diane) Upton; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bob enjoyed playing cribbage, camping, fishing and was a tremendous golf enthusiast. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 with Pastor Lew VanderMeer officiating. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. For those who wish Memorial Contributions can be made to a Charity of One's Choice.
