Jay E. Stratingh, aged 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2009.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne.  He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine Kruithof and Dorothy (Jerry) Greenlee; and many nieces and nephews.  Jay worked as a printer for the Grand Rapids Press for over 23 years and was a member of the Deaf Club.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookcrest Nursing Home for giving Jay such wonderful, loving care and for being his family for the last seven years. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
