Mrs.
Pauline Stegehuis, age 92, was received into heaven on Sunday, February
28,
2010. She was a stay-at-home mom who was very dedicated to her family.
Pauline
loved to cook and bake and her children fondly remember her pumpkin
chiffon
pies and homemade macaroni and cheese. She would take the city bus with
her
children to visit downtown Grand Rapids to shop. Later in life, she
learned to
drive under the tutelage of her loving husband. After much ado, she
received
her driver's license, but found driving much too stressful. For ten
years she
worked as a sales clerk and secretary for Steketees. She was a member
of First
Congregational Church, UCC of Rockford. Mrs. Stegehuis is survived by
her
children, Linda (Chris) Wuellner of Escanaba, Tom Stegehuis of Belmont,
Mrs.
Mollie Bryan of Lowell, Jack (Anne) Stegehuis of Caledonia; ten
grandchildren;
one great grandson; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her
husband, Henry on January 25, 2000; son-in-law, Frank Bryan; brother,
Chester
Peabody; sisters, Marian Owen and Maxine Haase. The service for Mrs.
Stegehuis
will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with
Pastor Laura
TenHave-Chapman officiating. Interment
in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Those planning an expression of
sympathy are
asked to consider Alzheimer's Association, 2944 Fuller Ave., NE, Suite
