Herman "Duke" Molenkamp of Wyoming went to
be with
his heavenly Father on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the age of 92. He
will be
greatly missed by his family. Duke is survived by his wonderful wife of
nearly
65 years, Helen; his children, Lynn and Connie Molenkamp, Carol and
Hook
Hoogstra; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and
sisters,
Alice and Ray Vanschaik, Harriet Huizenga, Mutts and Ray Clausen, Dick
and
Betty Molenkamp, Henrietta Molenkamp, Heinie Molenkamp, Roland and Ruth
Molenkamp, Art and Dee Koper. He was preceded in death by his brothers,
Clarence, Harry, Claude and Jacob Molenkamp. Duke served in the United
States
Army for 5 .5 years during World War II. He was employed by the
Sonneveldt
Company for 43 years and was a volunteer fireman for the City of
Wyoming
Station One for 43 years. Funeral services for Duke will be held at
Rush Creek
Bible Church, 2334 - 76th Street with Pastor Gary Lyendecker and Pastor
Gene
Pearson officiating. Interment is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Members of
the family will receive relatives and friends at the Sunday 2 to 4 and
7 to 9
p.m. The family of Duke would like to send a special Thank You to the
staff at
Hearthstone of Kentwood for the love and support that he received while
he was
a resident there. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Duke's memory
may be
made to Rush Creek Bible Church Building Fund or Hearthstone of
Kentwood.
