Marian R. MacKinnon, age 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron J. "Mac" MacKinnon; and her brother, George "Bud" Loegel. She is survived by her children, Cynthia and Ron Larson, Douglas and Kathy MacKinnon, James MacKinnon, and Patricia MacKinnon; her grandchildren, Dori and Ross Logerquist, Andrew and Jessica McLean, Courtney MacKinnon, and Marna Larson; her great-grandson, Seth Logerquist; her sister, Carol Loegel Smith; and several cousins and nephews. "Mrs. Mac" was a longtime educator in the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She taught at Shawnee Park Elementary School, where she also served as assistant principal. She was a consultant with the Elementary Intern Program and served as principal at Mulick Park Elementary School from 1979-1990. She was a member of the Women's City Club, where she served as treasurer, and was a member of the Grand Rapids Opera Affiliates. Funeral services including committal will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul Krupinski officiating.  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
