Willie H. Lovejoy, aged 64, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Thomasville, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 35 years, Chun Lovejoy, and several sisters and brothers. Willie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sue (Rick) Wohlford, Tom Walla, Darlene Lovejoy, Terence Lovejoy, Beverly Lovejoy, Kimberly (David) Lovejoy-Broadie, Kendall Lovejoy, Karen Lovejoy; sisters and brothers, Lillie Lovejoy, Josephine (Rev. Dr. I.L.) Mullins, Mattie Lovejoy, Rosa Lovejoy, Jerome Lovejoy, Rev. Mikeal Lovejoy, Carla Lovejoy; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Willie spent 21 years in the Army before retiring and owning his own businesses in Grand Rapids. He was a hard worker and had a special gift to gab that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A special thanks to his sister, Josephine, who cared for Willie in his last several months. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE with Rev. Mikeal Lovejoy as celebrant and Rev. I.L. Mullins as co-celebrant. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association. |
