 Mr. John Katerberg, Jr., age 82, of Grand Rapids, passed
away unexpectedly on
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009. John will be deeply missed by his
loving wife
of 62 years, Ruth; his children, John III and Sue Katerberg, Linda and
Maynard
Sikkema, Jack and Donna Katerberg; grandchildren, John IV and Shannon
Katerberg, Todd and Jennifer Katerberg, Karri and Scott Worden, Kim and
Todd De
Waard, Jeremy and Kristen Katerberg, Nick Katerberg; 12 loving great
grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rudy and Effie Katerberg, Henry
and Leona
Katerberg, Ev and Jean Katerberg, Alyce Finch; and many loving nieces,
nephews,
and cousins, especially Joe and Betty Katerberg. John was preceded in
death by
four sisters, Jenny Doornbos, Mathilda Huizenga, Roleana Versluys, and
Arianna
Boonstra. John and his brother, Henry started Katerberg Landscaping and
Excavating
over 50 years ago. After "retiring" he enjoyed home building, land
development and real estate. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11
a.m. at
Mayfair CRC with Pastor Jack De Jong officiating. Interment at Chapel
Hill
Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to
Mayfair CRC's Christian Education Fund or to The Leukemia &
Lymphoma
