Mr.
David D. Holtzlander Sr., aged 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday
afternoon, January 3, 2010 at Faith Hospice-Trillium Woods surrounded
by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Holtzlander;
his sons, David Holtzlander Jr., Dennis Holtzlander; his son-in-law, Dale
Christie; his two great grandsons, Scott Brenner and Christopher Morris.
He is survived by his children, Dorine and Raymond Clay, Dawn Christie
(her friend Al Olson), Debra and Mark Sheldon; daughters-in-law, Pat Holtzlander
and Gloria Holtzlander; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and
13 great great grandchildren; his sister-in-law and special friend, Pat
Holtzlander; sisters-in-law, Alberta Pike, Doris Leibeck, and Mary Holtzlander;
many nieces, nephews, and friends. David was a loving and dedicated husband,
father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and a friend to all who
knew him. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. David honorably
served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was owner
of Dave's Used Cars for 53 years. A service to celebrate Dave's Life will
be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in his memory
may be made to Harvest Bible Church. |
