Don Daniel Grigsby passed away October 24, 2009 at the Bitterroot Valley Living Center, in Stevensville, MT. He was born on May 24, 1916 to parents; Edwin and Myrna Grigsby in Bradley, Michigan. He finished his education at South High School in Grand Rapids. Don married Gertrude Wolters on August 7, 1937 and was married for 72 years. Don and Gertrude enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, fishing, farming and traveling. He worked at McInerny Spring and Wire for 50 years. Don and Gertrude had two daughters, Betty Ann Lynn living in Corvallis, Mt. with husband Rockey; Bonnie Joy Russell living in Bells, Texas with husband Jerry. Don was a 4-H leader for years and taught kids how to ride horses and tool leather. Every summer, he hauled his daughters all over Michigan competing in horse shows and rodeos. Don won a state championship in the Old Timers Pleasure Class. Don and Gertrude traveled to Montana and Texas every year to visit their families. Don was a fun guy to have around. He had a great sense of humor and he kept all of us laughing. He improved the lives of those he touched. He was a great son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Don was dearly loved and will be missed by all. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Myrna Grigsby; brother, Robert; and his sister, Betty; brother in law, Phillip Wolters and his wife, Jean. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; daughters, Betty and Bonnie; grandson, Todd Townsend and wife, Carolyn; great grandaughter, Tabatha, nieces and nephews of the Grigsby and Wolters families. The funeral will be on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
