 Grace
(Geertje) Geertsema, aged 100, went home to be with her Lord on Friday,
February 12, 2010. She was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to
America in
1952. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jakob Geertsema in
1999. Grace
was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed
by her
children, Abe and Carolyn Geertsema, Tena and Hubert Timmer, Rich and
Mia
Hunefeld; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jim and Christi
Geertsema
(Katie), Julie and Brian Turner (Daniel, Lauren, Elizabeth), David and
Deann
Geertsema (Abigail, Jenaya, Andrew, Brianna), Sue and Darren DeZeeuw
(Andrew,
Christine, Michael), Linda and Derek Verhulst (Jordan, Jakob), Mark and
Lisa
Timmer (Kyle, Megan, Joseph), John and Becci Timmer (Isaac, Ethan, Ava
Grace),
Lisa and Marc Holland, (Elijah, Kuyper, Mabel), Ross and Julie Hunefeld
(Sam,
Jane, Iris); sisters, Aukje Vedder and Jouk Ritsema of the Netherlands;
sisters-in-law, Aukje Lagendyk and Tjikke Wedzinga of the Netherlands,
Cora
Geertsema of NC. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 a.m. at
12th Avenue
Christian Reformed Church, 7551 12th Avenue, Jenison with Rev. Mark
Bennink and
Rev. James Evenhouse, officiating. Interment
Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Those who
wish may make memorial contributions to Sunset Manor.
