Mr. George H. Dewey, aged 82, of Grand Rapids, Veteran of WWII, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 after a long illness. Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia; stepsons, Gino and Phil; his brother, Robert Dewey; and sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Dalson and Grace (John) Rysdyk; also seven children from his previous marriage, Elizabeth, Kate, Debra, Pattie, Steve, Tim, Mike; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Oscar, Donald and Rodney. George was a fantastic car salesman, retiring from VanAndel-Flikkema. A Funeral and Committal Service will be conducted Friday 11:00 a.m. at Knapp Street Reformed Church. He will repose in church one hour prior to the Funeral. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers, East Mortuary, 937 Michigan NE. Memorial contributions to Knapp Street Reformed Church or St. Alphonsus Church will be appreciated.
