   1930-2010

Rev. W. Thomas De Vries , age 79, went to be with his Lord on April 7, 2010.  He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Tom and Liliana De Vries, Ruth Ann and Bob Vander Roest, Karen and Gerry Walcott, Dave and Kim, Mark and Vilma, Tim and Kathy, Steve and Erica De Vries; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Grace De Vries; sister-in-law, Nancy De Young; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Robert De Young.  Tom started his ministry at Leighton Christian Reformed Church in Iowa.  From there, he received the call, in 1958, to Christian Reformed World Missions.  Over the next 38 years, he and Evelyn served in Latin America and Eastern Europe.  In his retirement years, they continued serving the Lord in these areas as well as in Cuba.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Holland Home for their love and care shown to our husband and father.  Visitation will be held at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 9, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Seymour Christian Reformed Church 840 Alger SE.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Reformed World Missions, Raybrook Manor of the Holland Homes, or New Life Church (Vision 214 - Tim DeVries).  Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
