 Helen L. Cross, aged 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, June
14, 2009. Helen was an extraordinary cook. She utilized her expertise
for many years as a cook working for Calvin College, the Sheldon Complex
and Child Guidance Clinic. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise
Reynolds, father, Rudolph LittleJohn, daughter, Sandra Harvey-Castro,
and grandson, Tony Harvey. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband,
Andrew Cross; children, William LittleJohn, Gwendolyn (Willie) Cox, Shelia
(Papito) Harvey, Donna Hampton, Lucretia Harvey, Patricia (Robert) Murphy;
29 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and friends; two special friends, Bob Booker and Geraldine
Yarbrough. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19,
at New Hope Baptist Church, 130 Delaware S.W. with Pastor Howard C. Earl
officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. |
