Carter, Sr., age 71, went to be with his Lord on April 2, 2010. Evester
affectionately known as "Pops", "Carter", and
"Bro" was a man who loved his family. He was a loving husband,
father, brother, friend, and mentor. Evester was a master
carpenter/journeyman
who could build anything. He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Dester
Carter; his parents, Ronie and Eunice Carter; sisters, Margaree Aubrey;
and
brother, Roland Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and
best
friend, Carolyn; his children, Cassonya (Joseph) Pugh. Evester
(Barbara)
Carter, Jr., Rosilind Coleman, Nicole (Roderick) Sibley, Kimberly
Coleman; and
his grandchildren, Jonathan Evester, Nazhir, Raegan and Kyera; sisters,
Pricilla Washington, Penola Buggs, Mae Lizze Burrell, Christine (Floyd)
Stewart, Willie Powell; brothers, Jaycee (Arthree) Carter, Jimmy (Judy)
Carter;
and many special nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends
including
special friends, Mark Jarnegan, Lee Anderson, Cedrix Jarrett, Joe
Banks,
Johnnie Curry and Donald (Debra) Pullian who he considered his own. He
will be
sadly missed by all whose life he touched. A public viewing will be
held on
April 7, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ivy K. Gillespie-Moody
Memorial
Chapel. A Home-going celebration will be held on April 8, 2010 at 11:00
am. at
the Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 513 Henry SE. |
