In memory of Christopher Campbell 1951-2009 |
Christopher Harvey Campbell,
age 58, died in
his home on Monday. His sister,
Pamella Woolpert and mother, Margaret, preceded him in death. Surviving
are his
wife, Kathleen; and his daughters, Elizabeth (Andrew) Bush, and Amy
Sarah. He
also leaves a father, Jerry; a brother, Dr. Mark and Martha Campbell; a
brother-in-law, Samuel and Patricia Woolpert; nieces, Carrie, Jessica,
and
Victoria; and nephew, Scott. Chris grew up in Oak Park and Farmington
Hills. He
received a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in
Fisheries and
Wildlife. Chris was a devoted husband and father. Happily married for
29 years,
he and his wife were blessed with two daughters. An injury ended
employment as
a paramedic while his artistic talent found expression as a master
taxidermist.
Then he owned and operated Johnny's Sport Shop together with his wife.
Chris
was a rugged sportsman and avid fisherman with an appreciation for the
outdoors. After selling his business, he gained employment at Forest
Hills
Public Schools in Buildings and Grounds. His strong work ethic, calm in
a
crisis approach, together with his rare humor and wit moved him to
tackle any
task. We will miss him. A brief
graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 4th at Chapel
Hill
Memorial Gardens. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to
consider memorial contributions to Health Intervention Services. |
