Mrs. Betty M. Bronner, age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed
away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. She grew up on a farm between Sparta
and Kent City. Betty helped out at home and the restaurant "The Hotel"
that her mother managed. She worked at Wolverine World Wide, and then
Thornapple Valley. Betty enjoyed spending time with friends and helping
people. She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, and baking (especially cookies).
For many years she and Robert lived in Truth or Consequences, NM, but
returned to this area for health reasons. Betty is survived by her husband,
Robert D. Bronner; children, Carl Haynes of Rockford, Robin and Perry
Martinez of Wyoming, MI, and Roger and Carol Bronner of Grant; daughter-in-law,
Janice Haynes; grandchildren, Kerri Clark, Julie (Jeff) Stephan, Desiree
Bronner, Dakota Bronner, and Calvin Martinez; great-grandchildren, Cameron,
Mackenzie, and Keegan; sister, Mrs. Marian Reyburn; nieces, Pam Reyburn
and Toni Reyburn; and many friends including, Pat and Dan Coykendall,
Blanche Lee, and John Hammer. Preceding her in death was her parents,
Orville and Carrie Coalter, and her first husband, Carl (Junior) Haynes.
The service for Betty will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Duane
Reichelt officiating. Interment is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Friends
of Michigan Veterans Home, Inc. or American Cancer
Society. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on
Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. |
