Donald E.
Behrens, age 90, passed away March 17, 2010. Surviving are his wife
of 66 years, Lovela; four daughters, Kay Curry (John), Carol Kontak
(Tom),
Donna Linsey (John) and Barb Dodds (Allan); four grandchildren, Keith
Underwood
(Jennifer), David Linsey (Julie), Scott Dodds (Sarah), Kristen Dodds
(Justin);
six great grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Behrens; sister-in-law,
Mary Cole;
brother-in-law, Tom Schopmeyer and an aunt, Betty Gorham. Don graduated
from Central
High School Class of 1936, served four plus years in the Navy during
WWII,
retired after 36 years with Jaqua Advertising Agency, then after 22
years with
Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, he served in the Michigan Synod
at
various positions and ELCA, he received a Doctorate of Humane Letters
from
Carthage College in 1980 and was a life member of Trinity Lutheran
Church. A
memorial service will be Saturday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Maple Creek
Retirement Home Chapel, 2000 32nd St SE, Pastor Paul Krupinski and
Pastor
Rebecca Ebb-Speese officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
