Eugene H. Barnaby, aged 87, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen (Brown) Barnaby in 2000, and sisters, Birdice and Mary. He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Truszkowski, John D., James E. and Donna, Ralph K., and Mark S. Barnaby; grandchildren, Thomas and Rebecca Truszkowski, Brad, Amy, and Matthew Barnaby, Jacob and Joshua Barnaby; and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Allen; and two brothers, James and David. Eugene served his country in the Navy during World War II on the USS Washington. He was the part owner of a family trucking business. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. Entombment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
