Mary Ann (Amante) Nystrom-Baird, aged 80, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Surviving are husband, Alex Baird; her children, Kathleen (James) Reminga, John (Kathy) Nystrom, JoAnne Bloomfield, Gerald Nystrom, Patrick Nystrom; stepsons, Jeff (Joanne) Baird, David (Julie) Baird, Charles (Nancy) Baird; 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Sr. Catherine Amante, Delores (Jens) Hansen, Dominic (Flo) Amante, David (Pheobe) Amante, Sue (Dave) Goodwin, Marge (Greg) Phillips, Mark (Pam) Amante; many nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother! She was preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine Byrne; and her husbands, Gerald Nystrom Sr., Jordan Edgar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church. She will repose in church one hour prior to Mass. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  A vigil service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
